Speech Day 2016

-

Wilfred Leung

(’86 and alumni manager of SJACS)

The annual Speech Day and Graduation Ceremony

of SJACS was held on 27 May 2016 at the School’s Rev.

Bro. Paul Sun Memorial Hall with Dr. Leung, Lim Kin

Simon, a fellow SJACS alumnus, as the Guest of

Honour.

The

Ceremony

began with

an

opening

prayer led

by Rev. Fr.

Dino

Doimo,

which was

followed

by

a

welcoming

remark by Mr. Irving Koo, School Supervisor, and the

school report by Principal Poon Wing Keung. Supervisor

Koo expressed his welcome to Dr. Leung, the parents

and alumni attending the Ceremony and his

congratulations to the graduates for their achievements.

Principal Poon encouraged the graduates not to fear

difficulties in life and continue to strive for success.

Dr. Simon Leung, a distinguished alumnus of

SJACS, has

over 30 years

of experience

in

the

information

technology

and

telecommunic

ation

industries and

is

currently

Vice Chairman

of NetDragon

Websoft Inc.,

Chief

Executive

Officer of Huaya Education Technology and Chairman of

the Board, Promethean World Limited. Dr. Leung

shared his lifelong learning experience and encouraged

the graduates to be explorative and be always prepared

for opportunities.

An important part of the Ceremony was the

presentation of certificates and awards to the graduates

and students. During the 2015-16 school year, our

students have achieved outstanding results in a number

of external awards and inter-school competitions.

The final part of the programme was kicked off with

an enthralling drama performance by the students of the

primary section. Members of the graduating class then

took centre stage and captivated the audience with their

invigorating band music and passionate singing.

After the

Ceremony, the

guests, school

managers,

alumni

and

parents visited

the Form Six

Graduates

Visual

Art

Exhibition and

all were very

impressed

with the high

quality of the

artworks

by

these talented

young men.

The Josephian Quarterly

-

Andrew Lee

(’86)

Time flies! When the very first issue of the

JQ

came

out, the cover story was about the 2015 Josephian

Sports Day. Now, one year later, the cover story of the

5

th

issue is about the 2016 Josephian Sports Day. I

sincerely hope that over the past year or so, the

JQ

has

helped brought you all closer to our Alma Mater and to

other old boys and former teachers. By the way, the

upcoming annual dinner of the Josephian Association’s

will be held on 26 December. Don’t miss this golden

opportunity to socialize and celebrate boxing day with

your follow Josephians!
