On Saturday, 21st November 2009, SJACS held an Open Day of the school for our P.6 students and parents.  The event started at 9:30 a.m.  Rev. Victor Grioni officiated at the Welcoming Ceremony.  Guests of honor included Mr. Mak Lau, Mr. Joseph Chan and other PTA members as well as our very own alumni reps, Andrew Li and Daniel Li. 

The ceremony included a short speech by principal Paul Yeung and reviewing five uniform groups led by the SJACS marching band.  There was much pomp and fanfare, making an otherwise chilly morning much warmer.  This was followed by a performance program in the school hall including students who have participated in this year's English Speech Festival Competition.

English teachers, Carson and Mark were on stage to present the performers. We found the English speech standard quite impressive. This is proof enough that if given the necessary support and encouragement, students have the potential to make the grade. Afterwards, Andrew Li chatted with Carson and Mark and encouraged them to do more in lifting the general proficiency of the English language for all students.
