Events and Activities - Reunion Party for Class of ‘72

Reunion Party for Class of ‘72

After almost 40 years, it was high time a party was held to welcome back Franky Chan Kwok Kit to Hong Kong. Thanks to Johnny HO Chiu Wing, a track-and-field mate of old, a dinner was organized at the Yau Yat Chuen Club in Franky’s honor on the evening of 1 November 2011. Many of Franky’s close friends including, of course, a number of his running mates, managed to show up to greet Franky and his wife, who had come in from Toronto, where they had lived since 1972.

Former teacher, Raphael NG (abased in Toronto) also happened to be in Hong Kong, and everyone was pleasantly surprised to see him turn up. Although Raphael had to leave early for another engagement, his presence was very much appreciated by all.

John HUI Lap Shun had also come in from LA and made a special effort to join the dinner party, although he had to cut dinner short to catch a flight that very evening.

There was much catching up to be done. For dear friends, Josephians, it was just like yesterday. Andrew LI Chi Sheung, the current Chair of the Josephain Association, reminded the gathering that next year would be the 40th Anniversary for the Class of ’72. Plans are now on foot for a big party tentatively scheduled to take place in December 2012, so that participants from out of town may also attend the alumni annual dinner event usually in December.
