ST. JOSEPH’S A-C SCHOOL
CEREMONY FOR SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS 2010-11 (23 Sep 2011)

The School regularly recognizes and awards academic excellence shown by students.  The scholarship awards of the 2010-11 year were handed out to the winners in a ceremony held in the School Hall (soon to be named ‘Rev. Bro. Paul Sun Memorial Hall’) on the morning of 23rd September 2011.

Principal Paul Yeung led on to the stage the guests of honor, including Mr. Irving Y.Y. Koo, the new School Supervisor, Ms Kwok Wan, Principal of SJACPS and old boys, Mr. Andrew Li, Chairman of The Josephian Association, Dr. Edmund T.Y. Lee and Mr. Russ S. Y. Ko, and Madam Hua, Chairperson of the Parent-Teacher Association, who were in turn called upon to present the various awards to the winners. Madam Hua was especially upbeat, giving each winner a big ‘high-five.’

Many prizes were given out, including inter alia notably the Rev. Brother Paul Sun Scholarship awards and The Josephian Association Scholarship Awards.

The keynote speech was given by Dr. Edmund Lee, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Design Center. Dr. Lee greeted the gathering and congratulated the winners and the proud parents present to witness the prize presentation. He remembered the old days as a student and the trials and tribulations. He extolled the virtues of the Josephian family spirit as exemplified by Brother Paul, the founder of our Alma Mater. He urged young Josephians not to be complacent but be aware of the high standards and competitiveness beyond our very campus gates. Last but not least, he shared this cherished warm occasion as a home-coming Josephian.

A number of parents were in the audience and were rightly proud of the achievements of their sons. It was a genuinely warm occasion blessed with the St. Joseph Family spirit.
