SPEAKERS FORUM 3^RD CHARITY DINNER ON 7 JUNE 2011

Truly blessed with our Saint Joseph’s family spirit, the third Speakers Forum of the Rev. Brother Paul Sun Education Foundation was successfully held on the evening of 7 June at the Hong Kong Football Club.

On this occasion, Mr. Francis Kwok Sze Chi, Executive Director of Bright Smart Securities, Director of the Institute of Securities Dealers and Vice-Chairman of the HK Institute of Financial Analysts and Professional Commentators, was the keynote speaker. Other honored guests included Fr. Vittorio Grioni (Supervisor of SJACS), and Mr. Paul Yeung (Principal of SJACS).

Thanks to our corporate sponsors, the Bright Smart Group, and Messrs. Kwok, Ng & Chan, Notaries & Solicitors and our usual supporters, all seats were sold before the event. Two SJACS students were also invited to the function, to share this special evening. Guests started to arrive around 6:30 pm. Matthias Li (Chair of the Forum) and other Trustees of the Foundation made welcome and gave warm greetings to our guests.

After Matthias kicked off by welcoming everyone, Peter Yeung, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, gave a short introduction on the Rev. Bro. Paul Sun Education Foundation and the Speakers Forum. Then the charity dinner started. In the middle of the dinner, Anchor Ladies of the Bright Smart Financial Channel were invited to introduce their newly established channel and, of course, our Speaker, Mr. Francis Kwok. The talk on ‘Can the Bull Market top 30K points?’ was the highlight of the evening. Francis fully shared with us the most up-to-date analyses and trends in the Hong Kong stock market, and also his very insights on the macro-economic environment covering Hong Kong, China and the world.

 
To finish off, he spent ten minutes answering questions from the floor. Many questions were asked on why Francis should predict the Index going up to 30K points, and interesting and well-argued opinions were frankly given. The audience gave the Speaker a big hand for his extremely interesting speech of around half an hour without break.  Francis told the gathering he had insisted to go on with this engagement although he was sick from some stomach problem, and that he was able to give only 50% of his performance. And for this 50%, Francis received a standing ovation from the appreciative audience.

At the end of the Forum, Peter presented a memento to the Speaker. Our guests enthusiastically took turns to come up to the stage for photos with our Speaker in the final session of the program. It was a wonderfully enjoyable evening for all guests and they all stayed till the very end. We are looking forward to seeing them in the next dinner in September 2011.

On this occasion, the Foundation managed to raise over HKD 100,000 and the next event is being planned. Please, stay tuned!
