Events and Activities - SJACS X’Mas Party 2010 (17 Dec 2010)

SJACS X’Mas Party 2010

On behalf of the Students Association, Chairman Derek Hau invited the Josephian Association to attend the School’s Christmas Party 2010.  This party was a most memorable one as it was the last school event on the old campus before moving to the new campus in January.

The party was held on 17 December, a cold but otherwise fine and sunny day.  There were two sessions, from 8:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 10:20 a.m. to 12:00 noon respectively. Each session included a religious ceremony with X’mas carols, a singing contest, a break-dance performance and a magic show performed by Iver Lau (Class of ’01).  This year, our special guests were our very own popular radio personality, Chan Wan Hoi (Class of ’87), who is now with FM903, and his colleague Donald Tong, forming the judging panel for the singing contests.

The singing contest in the solo session was won by Dinho Chan Shing Cho of F.5A. Members of the winner of the group session are Kwan Pak Lin, Leung Chun Wai and Lee Chek Fung of F.7A.  Besides impressing the gallery with his song, he captured everyone’s heart with genuine words of thanks and tears in his eyes, holding the trophy in his hands!

The whole show was only recently conceived after Rino Lam (Class of ’90), JA Director of Liaison, met with students to plan a Chinese New Year booth. This quickly developed into planning a series of interesting performances. The party was a wonderful success. This result was most pleasing to all concerned and proved that our students are capable of organizing high quality events and performances. With the help from the old boys, the Students Association plans to do much more when the School moves to the new building with much better facilities.

Daniel LI Hon Keung, Vice Chair of JA, reminded the students to try come to the last farewell ceremony on the old campus on Jan 2.

Ad astra!
