The Josephian Association Annual Dinner 2010 was held at the Hong Kong Football Club on
After months of preparation by our Annual Dinner Committee, we have invited over 170 participants including alumni, acting school supervisor, school principal, current and former teachers, members of the Parents & Teachers Association as well as current students. This clearly demonstrates the support and sense of belonging from different members of the SJACS family.
Guests started to arrive at
As part of our Catholic tradition, Ms. Lee Choi Yin, our acting school supervisor, led our prayers and made blessings to all members of the SJACS family. Principal Paul Yeung then gave an introductory speech on our new campus and discussed how the new facilities can foster a better education and growth environment for our next-generation Josephians.
Our entertainment section started off with a brilliant violin performance by Shawn Chiang, a current SJACS Form 6 student. His performance featured Hungarian song Czardas. Iver Lau (’01), an amateur magician who has participated in large-scale local magic exhibitions, continued to keep the crowd entertained with his innovative magic skills. This was later followed by a more serious presentation on global climate change issues by our guest speaker William Yu (‘84), Head of Climate Programme of WWF-Hong Kong, and also a fellow Josephian.
Fund-raising activities for the Rev. Brother Paul Sun Education Foundation also took place throughout the night as members of the Parents & Teachers Association sold raffle tickets and mugs with school pictures to our guests. Our night finally ended with an exciting lucky draw run by Benny Ma (’75), who had also sponsored many of the prizes.
It was a great pleasure to see the joyful moments at the dinner banquet. May we wish the entire SJACS family another excellent year and we truly look forward to seeing you again in our Annual Dinner 2011.
Ad astra!
