DINNER GATHERING AT CASA DE BENNY
On the evening of Saturday, 31st July, Benny Ma (’74) hosted a special dinner party in his apartment at Whampao Garden. Taking advantage of his liberty, with family away on holidays, Benny was quick to cease the chance to show off his cooking skills. On his list of guests were mostly active members of The Josephian Association, including Peter Yeung (’75), Daniel Li (’72), Samuel Lam (’75), Anthony Chow (’78), Andrew S.W. Li (’75), Andrew C. S. Li (’72), Matthias Li (’72), Ng Man Kin (’81), Rino Lam (’90), Anthony Mak (’90), William Hui (’01), Kenneth Ngai (’01) and Stephen Sheung (’01). Despite the very warm weather that day, all were eager to part-take in the delight of sampling the culinary treats that they had heard so much about. Many brought along wine to go with the food, making it a very memorable dinner indeed.
It is regrettable that only a few could be accommodated, but here is the special menu at Casa de Benny that evening:
Tomato spread
Cucumber a la crème
Clams au vin blanc
Rillette de goose
Garlic prawns
Coucous Royale
Mint tea
And to top it all off, an excellent apple pie a la mode. What a feast, indeed! Last but not least, Benny held a lucky draw to entertain his classmates. It was another one of those rare all-boys occasions on which all were free to say as they pleased, and that’s exactly how they enjoyed the evening together. Thanks to Benny, donations were also raised to benefit the Rev. Bro. Paul Sun Foundation, in the best of the great St. Joseph family spirit!
