July’s monthly gathering for coordinators took place on Saturday, 17th July. Andrew Li held a birthday party on that day in his wine venue, Edmond’s Gallery Fine Wine & Cigar Club, Nanshan, Shenzhen, and the same party conveniently doubled up as our gathering.
A tropical storm passed by and brought some wet weather during the week, but the sky cleared sufficiently for the party to go ahead as planned. Some 20 Josephians and teachers made it to the venue on time, and the party started at about 7 pm. As usual there was plenty of nice food and drinks. Participants enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and warm conversations. We talked about our website upgrading, on-going fund-raising for the Rev. Bro. Paul Sun Education Foundation, and how to help the school with donations and activities, e.g. next year’s mentor scheme. It was yet another good opportunity to talk to teachers in order to achieve better communication and understanding. All thought it would be a great step forward when the alumni will get a place to gather in the new school building when it opens in December.
The party ended before mid-night. Donations were collected, as usual, to be added to a pool earmarked for the Foundation in the name of the group. We talked about the next meeting and it was proposed to arrange a dinner in a Japanese restaurant run by an alumus.
