Events and Activities - Coordinators' Gathering on 25th Jun 2010

Thanks to Alex Li (SJACS'93), we were able to hold our monthly coordinators' party in his spacious Chai Wan photographic studio. In all we had some 15 Josephians turning up. Everyone thought the venue was great, providing a relaxed and casual atmosphere. That is probably why we were able to share lots of jokes and exchange many ideas, not to forget the many pictures that were taken.

We took the opportunity to understand the current work being done by the Josephian Association. As coordinators, the group is responsible to help spread the message so that our classmates are regularly apprised of what is going on. For example, the role of Andrew Li, as our representative to the School's SMC, is to present our overall collective views and wishes. We must help him with this very important task.

As Rino Lam advised, soon our website would be upgraded so that we could, for example, allow secure access to information to do with Andrew's ongoing work in the SMC, and also to enable our membership database to be further expanded from the current 1,200 strong. However, one message was clear: we must work together closely in the best of our St. Joseph's family spirit and tradition; we must keep collecting and exchanging ideas and views to reach a better understanding of our collective goals and form a common platform as far as is practicable, remembering this is why we have formed this Coordinators body in the first place. We thank, in particular, views expressed by Gilbert Fung ('76) and Ed Sheung ('69), as well as Peter Ng ('74), who is teaching Chemistry in SJACS and most keen to see improvements for the Alma Mater that we all crave for so much.

Again, everyone enjoyed the wine sponsored by Andrew Li, our the Group's Convener. Time passed ever so quickly while we were having fun, and soon it was 11,30 p.m., time to say goodbye.

Special thanks must go to Alex for hosting this party. The money collected from participants will be put in a reserve, earmarked for donating to the Foundation, in the name of the Coordinators.

Regarding coming attractions, we have the following:

1.      Again, Andrew Li will host a gathering for  coordinators at his fine wine & cigar club in Nanshan, Shenzhen, proposed for the evening of Sat. July 17.

2.      Johnny T.T. Yin (SJACS'93) came to the party. We congratulated him on opening a Japanese restaurant at the Holiday Inn Express on Sharp Street, Causeway Bay. Johnny has invited the group to have a dinner party there soon. So, meanwhile, all are keen awaiting mouth-watering news on further details.
