SJACPS Seminar for Parents (15 APR 2011)
On Friday, 15th April 2011, SJACPS held a seminar for parents of students going on to F.1. At 4 p.m., Principal Kwok Wen started the session advising parents on the official secondary school placement procedure as well as how best to fill in the application. Needless to say, it was an ideal opportunity to canvass the support of parents to choose the secondary section.
Principal Paul Yeung, SJACS, was the next speaker. He gave a thorough rundown on the continuing development of SJACS, including the strengths of our school, backed up by a brand new campus. The attraction of going on to the secondary section would, of course, include the help and support of the SJACS Alumni.
On hand to give an introduction was Andrew LI Chi Sheung, the current Chairman of the Josephian Association, accompanied on this occasion by fellow JA Director, Daniel LI Hon Keung, also a graduate of the Class of ’72. Andrew conveyed to the gathering the support of the Alumni for both SJACPS and SJACS, welcoming young Josephians in the primary section to apply for enrolment in F.1, SJACS. With thousands of old boys spread all over the world, the Alumni form a powerful network, with substantial resources and connections that could be of invaluable help to students of SJACS. He also pledged the JA’s support to help improve academic results, including languages, with an emphasis on lifting the use and proficiency of English.
The seminar ended at 5 p.m. and the parents were ushered away to view teaching facilities, the next item on the program for the afternoon.
